French President Emmanuel Macron met with former prime minister Bernard Cazeneuve amid growing pressure to find a new prime minister following the July 7 polls. The president is also expected to meet with Xavier Bertrand, a leading figure of the centre right, as well as former presidents Nicolas Sarkozy and Francois Hollande later on Monday.
